DIY- Stars & Stripes Shorts

The 4th of July is fast approaching and ever since
I was a kid, I made sure I was wearing a red, white, and blue outfit. So to carry on this tradition, I took an old pair of jeans, cut them into shorts, rolled the cuffs, and went DIY on the back pockets. For the stars I used a cookie cutter and a stencil for the flag and smaller star. I used basic acrylic paint in red, white, and blue colors since I already had them and just a small paint brush since it was easier to get the points of the stars painted. After the paint dried I rubbed the painted area with a little silver glitter glue. I'm not sure if the paint will hold up through a washing, but I figure I will just not wear the shorts till the 4th and if the paint comes off, who cares? I still have a pair of jeans shorts to lounge in all summer long.

Supplies:
Jeans or jean shorts
Stencils
Paint brushes
Red, white, and blue acrylic paint
Silver glitter glue
