Cupcake-Gate 2014

To my family near and far,
Yeah people be loco for cupcakes. I suppose it's because they are pretty wonderful. Just a little mini cake which probably makes most people feel like a kid again and who doesn't love that feeling? It all started out of a birthday necessity and we ended the weekend with several flavors due to one peanut allergy, one chocolate allergy and one strawberry allergy, Two bakeries and not enough cupcakes to go around, but by the end everyone had at least a bite or two and that seemed to keep the monsters inside us all in check. I guess it only seems right to have people fighting over sugary substances that make you feel so good, it's comfort food after all. Besides I only want to be in a family that fights over cupcakes because that makes me feel like I truly belong. I heart sugar and my family what can I say? A cupcake is really just a piece of nostalgia that we all want to cling to.

May your bake sale memories and
classroom parties be Forever Frosted!

XOXO

P.S. If we start fighting over wine, then I might just cut a %$&#$,
Good thing that will never happen! :-)

Peach on Earth

We had our Office Christmas Party the other day and decided on a three ingredient no-fail recipe! It always delivers and rarely leaves leftovers. Peach-BBQ Lil' Smokies 2-14 oz package of Lil' Smokies cocktail sausages 1-16 oz jar of Peach Preserves 1-16 oz bottle of BBQ sauce Put all ingredients into a crockpot, stir and cook on high for 2 hours or low for 4 hours.  Serves 12-15, I would double for larger crowds.

Doritos Pumpkin cheese ball

1 Block cream cheese ½ C salsa (pace salsa works best) 2-3 C crushed nacho doritos Bell pepper stem Small round bowl Press and seal wrap Non-stick spray Mix with an electric mixer the cream cheese and salsa. I mix it well and until it is quite creamy/fluffy. Place a piece of press and seal over a small bowl and spray with nonstick spray. Put in cream cheese and salsa mixture and wrap up. Let chill overnight or at least 2 hours. When ready to serve unwrap ball and roll in crushed doritos and top with a bell pepper stem. I like to serve it with blue tortilla chips for Halloween, this is also great for Thanksgiving.
